The work conducted within the framework of this project will ensure the continuation of the established observational network in the Cordillera Blanca; it will increase the knowledge about the governing dynamic processes that relate large scale climate conditions to local meteorological conditions above tropical glaciers; and it will provide the basis for reducing uncertainty in estimates about impacts of climate variability on local water resources. This will be achieved through a combined approach of direct measurements and numerical modeling.
